COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team played the first of a five-game mock "world series" Tuesday, pitting two intrasquad teams against each other in its annual Purple and Gold Series.
The teams were chosen in a Monday evening draft by the eight senior members of the team. The Purple team will be managed by assistant coach Cody Church while assistant coach Brandon Turner will handle the managing of the Grey team.

Game 1 of the series took place Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CT. Game 2 will be played on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 2:30 p.m. Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4 with a 2 p.m. start. Games 4 and 5 will played no matter what, with the fourth game set for Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m. and the fifth game will be scheduled in the future.
All of the games will be played at Bush Stadium in the Averitt Express Baseball Complex.
