Tech’s Pro Scout Night draws 19 teams from across Major League Baseball

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Scouts from 19 major league teams stopped by Tennessee Tech Thursday night for the baseball team’s annual Pro Scout Night at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex.

The scouts took the opportunity to study the Golden Eagle prospects as they took some fielding, throwing and running drills, before an intrasquad scrimmage.

Head coach Matt Bragga was excited about the turnout from the various MLB teams. He attributes the large number of scouts who attended the event to the level of talent the Golden Eagle baseball team has boasted over the last few years, that includes a pair of Ohio Valley Conference Championships.

Team with scouts present at the event included the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, L.A. Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians, Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, Oakland A's, Milwaukee Brewers, Florida Marlins, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles.
