COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech baseball team puts a five-game winning streak on the line Tuesday night when the Golden Eagles visit Murfreesboro, Tenn., to tangle with an old nemisis in Middle Tennessee State University.

Tech (18-19 overall) is coming off  three-game sweep against Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Illinois in which the Golden Eagles received stellar pitching performances. Middle Tennessee (22-14) took two of three from Troy over the weekend.

Tech will start sophomore righthander Matthew Shepherd (1-0/9.49 ERA). Middle Tennessee will send Daniel Palo (0-1/5.25 ERA).

It's the first of two meetings in 2010 between the two long-time rivals. MTSU will pay a return visit to Cookeville on May 11 for a 6 p.m. contest.
