NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tickets for the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference
Baseball Championship are now on sale. This year marks the
first time the event will be held at Pringles Park in Jackson,
Tenn. Pringles Park is the home of the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, the
AA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
The event is May 26-29 (30) and will feature the top six teams in
the OVC playing in a double-elimination format.
Tickets for the event will be $10 per day or $30 for an
all-session pass (up to 11 total games). There is also a $8 a day
rate for students/faculty of OVC-member schools or groups.
All seats at the 6,000-seat park are general admission for the OVC
Championship.

be available within the next week and posted at OVCSports.com.
Pringles Park opened in 1998. The venue hosted the 1999 Southern
League All-Star Game and will also host that event in 2011.
Pringles Park also has luxury suites, a video board and merchandise
shop that will be used for the championship. Pringles Park, the
city of Jackson and the OVC announced a three-year agreement to
hold the 2010, 2011 and 2012 championships at the venue in June

Jackson, Tenn. is located along Interstate 40 about 195 miles from
Cookeville home of the defending tournament champion Tennessee Tech
Golden Eagles.
This marks the 31st year for the OVC Baseball Championship. The
first elimination style tournament was held in 1980, most usually
being played at the site of the regular season champion. Beginning
in 2001 the tournament switched to a neutral site for the first
time, as the last nine championships had been held at Brooks
Stadium in Paducah, Ky.
The Ohio Valley Conference currently has nine baseball-playing institutions including Austin Peay State University, Eastern Illinois University, Eastern Kentucky University, Jacksonville State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Southeast Missouri State University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee at Martin. Tennessee State University, a member of the OVC in all other sports, does not sponsor baseball. SIU Edwardsville, the league's newest member, is ineligible for postseason play until 2013 due to the program's reclassification efforts to full Division I status.
