COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- With Communiversity Night coming up soon,
Tennessee Tech Athletics was the special guest of the
Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Tuesday for the
monthly Breakfast Before Hours event.
Director of Athletics Mark Wilson began with updates about
Athletics, ranging from the recent high cumulative GPA posted by
Golden Eagle student-athletes to an invitation to save the dates
for the 2015 Pepsi Bobby Nichols Scramble presented by Budweiser.
The focus then turned to the current basketball season, beginning
with some comments from Mason Ramsey. A redshirt freshman from
Livingston, Ramsey was filling in while head coach Steve Payne was
away on a recruiting trip. Women's coach Jim Davis wrapped things
up with an update on his team, punctuated by his trademark wit and
wisdom.
Communiversity Night is on Saturday, Feb. 7, when Tech hosts
Jacksonville State in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader. Each
Chamber of Commerce member is offered up to eight free tickets to
the games, a tribute to the successful partnership between the
city, county and university.
