Where have they landed? Tight end Jim Bishop

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - This season on The Watson Brown Show, a new segment has been added. "Where have they landed?" focuses on 15 former student-athletes and where their lives have led them following their Tech careers.

Each Watson Brown Show features a two-minute segment where a former student-athlete recalls their time at Tech, tells stories from their lives, and tells where they are now in life.

This segment highlights Jim Bishop, a Tech tight end from 1968-71. Bishop was a team captain and all-conference selection on the football team, and also played one season on the Tech baseball team, before the NFL draft sent him toward a brief pro football career with the San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Oilers. When he finished his Golden Eagle playing career, Bishop held two school receiving records -- most career receptions (76) and most career touchdown catches (11). He also ranked second all-time at Tech in career receiving yards with 1,162, missing 20-year old record by a mere 33 yards.

An extended version (below) of the interview from the Watson Brown Show will be available on YouTube after the shorter segment airs each week.
