Video boards, digital scoreboard being added to gameday experience in Eblen Center

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Something fun, new and action-packed will greet fans attending games in Tennessee Tech’s Eblen Center beginning this fall with the installation of a large video board and new digital scoreboards.

“The new video board and all of the features it will provide will be a huge enhancement to the gameday experience for fans attending games in Eblen Center,” said Mark Wilson, TTU Director of Athletics. “The possibilities are endless for what we can display on the board, and we’re excited about the way it will bring a new dimension to the interaction and experience of Tennessee Tech athletics.”

The video board will not only provide highlights, replays and other video content for basketball and volleyball games, it will eventually be available for use at other events in the arena, including commencement ceremonies, freshman convocation, and more.

Tennessee Tech has partnered with Utah-based YESCO Electronics to provide an integrated, eight-sided center-hung video display system and digital scorer’s table for the arena, home of Golden Eagle basketball and volleyball. The new system will be ready for the 2014 volleyball season and 2014-2015 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

The new system includes four primary 12-by-15 foot video displays, four corner displays, and 28- and 20-foot diameter, full-color upper and lower video rings. The main displays are major updates to the previous fixed-digit center-hung scoreboard installed in the mid-1980s.  Additionally, the Eblen Center upgrades will include a new 40-foot wide, full-color digital scorer’s table, four 6-by-10 foot fixed digit scoreboards, as well as shot clocks, game clocks and locker room clocks.

“We are excited for this new video system and very pleased with the technology that YESCO is bringing to our arena,” Wilson said.  “These screens will be the best in the Ohio Valley Conference and significantly improve what I already consider the best arena in the OVC.”

Ben Sewell, Regional Sales Manager for YESCO Electronics, is overseeing the installation.

“YESCO Electronics is honored to partner with TTU for the upgrades at the Eblen Center,” Sewell said. “All of these video displays will feature the latest LED technology and rival any arena of its size in the country.  We are looking forward to a long-term relationship with the university.”

The four main video displays will feature a 10mm true pixel pitch which will stream live game-time footage and instant replays in crisp detail, vibrant color, and at a blazing, 23,000Hz refresh rate.  Both the upper and lower video rings, as well as the digital scorer’s table will also feature this same 10mm pixel pitch technology and offer sponsors a brand new platform to communicate with fans in a dynamic color.

YESCO Electronics LED screens are proudly manufactured in the USA and are UL Green Leaf Certified for energy efficiency.
