COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech has announced the starting
times for all Golden Eagle basketball games during the 2013-14
season, home and away. The season begins Tuesday, Nov. 5, with a
women's exhibition game in Eblen Center against Truett-McConnell at
7 p.m CT.
Tech's single home games, with the exception of one women's game,
will all tip off at 7 p.m. The one exception comes on Nov. 24 as
the women's team hosts Valparaiso at 2 p.m. in a Sunday afternoon
matchup. Game times for the three home doubleheaders feature a
women's tipoff at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
The road games for the women's and men's teams have a wide variety
of starting times including a 9:30 a.m. matchup at Akron for the
women's team and an 8:05 p.m. tip for the men's team at Utah
Valley.
A couple of OVC doubleheaders on the road have afternoon starting
times. The doubleheader at Belmont will start with the women's game
at 2 p.m. and the men's game will follow at 4 p.m. When both squads
travel to Austin Peay, the women will tip at 5:15 p.m. and the men
will start at 7:30 p.m. The final two games of the season for both
squads will feature doubleheaders as the squads travel to the
Eastern Time Zone to face Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State. The
women's game at EKU will start at 4:30 p.m, with the men's
following at 6 p.m., and the games at Morehead State will start
with the women's game at 4:15 p.m. and the men's game at 6:30
p.m.
On additional quirk to the home schedule comes on Tuesday, Nov.
12, when the men's squad hosts Loyola Chicago in a celebration of
the 50th anniversary of the two teams meeting in the 1963 NCAA
Tournament. On that evening, the Golden Eagle volleyball team hosts
Jacksonville State at 5:30 p.m. in Eblen Center, with the
basketball game to follow at 7:30 p.m., making for a unique
doubleheader. With free admission to the volleyball match, all fans
who attend and are in the arena before the end of the second set of
the volleyball match will also receive free admission to the
basketball game. Fans coming after the second set will need
basketball tickets to enter.
