Murray State will be highest-ranked men's opponent
in Eblen Center
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech Athletics officials want to
let basketball fans know that -- as of Tuesday morning -- about
2,400 tickets remain on sale for seats in the upper bowl of Eblen
Center for Saturday's Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against
Murray State.
The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m., with the men's game to
follow about 7:30 p.m. Gates to the arena will open at 4:30
p.m.
All of the reserved seats in the lower bowl of the arena are sold
out while about 300 student tickets remain to be picked up for
student seating in the lower bowl. Students can pick up free
tickets with a valid ID (limit of one per ID).
The night includes two special features in addition to two great
games -- it's Senior Night and it's Basketball Alumni Night. For
Senior Night, Tech will say farewell to 10 senior players who are
seeing their final action in Eblen Center. The Senior Night
recognitions will take place about 10 minutes before tipoff of each
game.
For Alumni Night, several dozen former players will be back for
the event and will be recognized during the two halftimes.
The Golden Eagle women's team has won eight of its last 10 games,
and has clinched the No. 3 seed in next week's OVC Tournament. The
Golden Eagles could establish a new school record for the highest
attendance at a women's basketball game. The current record of
6,113 was set when Tech defeated Middle Tennessee on Feb. 3,
1990.
The Tech men have won seven of their last 10, and played an
extremely close battle at Murray State a few weeks ago. With a
victory over the Racers -- who have only lost one game all year --
the Golden Eagles would hold a tiebreaker advantage over several
other OVC teams for seedings in the upcoming league tournament.
Murray State is currently 26-1 overall and ranked 12th nationally
this week. The Racers will be the highest-ranked men's team ever to
visit Eblen Center.
Golden Eagle fans are also reminded to wear purple to the
games.
The ticket office Eblen Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to
noon, and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased by
calling (931) 372-3940, or ordered online at TTUsports.com.
