Mike Lehman is in his ninth year as a member of the Tennessee Tech sports information staff and fifth as the athletic department's director of sports information, following the retirement of former assistant athletic director for sports information and broadcasting, Rob Schabert, after 34 years of service.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sports information department, Lehman also serves as the primary contact for the Golden Eagle men’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, men's and women's cross country, and track & field teams. His duties also include acting as the secondary contact for Tech football and the primary statistician for all Golden Eagle teams.

In his time at Tennessee Tech, Lehman has provided daily updates on the TTUsports.com website, produced publications for each of his assigned sports and developed a variety of graphics and other materials for social media and advertising for Golden Eagle athletics.

Lehman develops and produces all content for the Golden Eagle Sports Network Male and Female Athlete of the Week Awards, an initiative he began in the fall of 2015 to help honor Golden Eagle athletes for their weekly athletic accomplishments, and also serves as one of the lead producers/directors of Tennessee Tech Athletics’ first-ever awards banquet, the Golden Wings Awards. Lehman helped establish the Golden Wings Awards, an annual awards show and event at the end of each athletics year that honors Tennessee Tech student-athletes for their accomplishments on and off the field.

Known for his in-depth game notes and eye for detail, Lehman handles all of Tech’s athletic pass requests for football and basketball games and runs the press box operations on football game days.

A 2012 Northern Illinois University graduate with a bachelor's in marketing, Lehman joined the Golden Eagle staff following two years as a student worker for the NIU office. He is from East Dundee, Ill., in the Chicago area. While at Northern Illinois, Lehman spent two years with the Huskies’ sports information office and held several responsibilities over that time.

After gaining experience his first year, he was kept on for a special summer project involving the record books for several of the Huskies’ 16 sports. Lehman earned new duties in his second year, including leading the statistics crew for basketball and assisting with volleyball. He was also the secondary contact for women’s tennis and was chosen to design the 2012 MAC Women’s Tennis Championship program.

During his time with the Huskies, NIU was honored as a 2011 “Super 11” sports information department by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), which recognizes the best 11 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) departments in the nation during the season. Lehman compiled statistics for the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boy’s Basketball Super-Sectionals his final year and also worked three MAC Championship events during his time at NIU, including Track & Field, Gymnastics, and Women’s Tennis.

While at Northern Illinois, Lehman was a member of the prestigious co-ed professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. He spent four years as a brother, including three as the fraternity’s Sports Chair. His duties included running all athletic events and teams for the fraternity. During his time as Sports Chair, the fraternity boasted two intramural championship teams, including the 2012 Co-Ed 16” Softball champions.
