Elijah Potter joined the Tennessee Tech Athletics staff in August 2017, hired as a facility and events coordinator.
Potter earned his bachelor’s degree from Tech in the Spring 2017 semester, his in sports management with a minor in business. The Smyrna native also interned with Tech Athletics, serving in a marketing, facilities and game/event management role.
“I am really thrilled to be here,” Potter said. “I’ve worked with the guys here last semester, so I already know what it’s like and what’s required. It really feels like coming home again.”
He had previous experience with the Nashville Sounds minor league baseball club as a lead fan host from 2015 to 2017, as well as a guest relations/season ticket activation associate this season.
“Even though it’s a new role, this is nothing new,” Potter said. “It’s something that I’ve really been around most of my life and something that I’ve grown up wanting to do. I just landed in the right spot, I guess.
“It’s fun. I like college athletics a little bit more than pro sports because there’s something new every day. I’m not stuck in one motion and doing the same routine. I’ve got to adapt and there’s always something I can learn.”
