Hank Grenda joined Tennessee Tech in August 2022 as a full-time assistant strength and conditioning coach. He oversees the programming and implementation of weight training, speed/agility training, conditioning, and mobility with men's basketball, baseball, and volleyball/beach volleyball. He also assists with coaching football year-round.

Prior to Tennessee Tech, Grenda worked at Elon as an assistant sports performance coach in September 2021, overseeing men's and women's tennis as well as men's and women's golf. He also assisted with football year-round.

Before joining the sports performance at Elon, Grenda was a graduate assistant of strength and conditioning at Austin Peay, assisting with football and overseeing cross country strength and conditioning.

Grenda interned at Elon University, assisting the sports performance staff in the summer while working closely with the football team. Other teams that he was able to assist with included track and baseball.

An inside linebacker at Ball State, Grenda received a bachelor's of science degree in exercise science. As a senior, Grenda helped the Cardinals win a MAC Championship and a bowl game, the school's first bowl win in program history. In his junior and senior years, he was awarded a single-digit number, which was a significant award in the Cards' program, indicating a player that is hard-working, trustworthy, accountable, and embodies what the program is set out to be. As a sophomore, he was awarded defensive scout team player of the year. Grenda originally joined the Cardinals as a walk-on in the summer of 2017.

Grenda is from Westfield, Ind. where he attended Westfield High School and played both football and hockey all four years. He helped the football program win its first state championship in program history as a senior. Grenda is one of five children with one older sister (Lucy), a younger brother (Calvin), and two younger sisters (Elly and Mary). Lucy and Elly both play collegiate volleyball. His father (Greg) played football at Indiana, as well as swam his freshman year for the Hoosiers.

Grenda is certified through the NSCA holding a CSCS, is also CPR-AED certified, and is a CrossFit-Online L1 trainer.
