Matt joins the Golden Eagle football program after a phenomenal senior year at Dalton (Ga.) High School where he was named the Catamounts’ Defensive Player of the Year. Leading his team and ranking fifth among all classifications in the state of Georgia in total tackles with 158 stops, he was named the Region 7-5A Defensive Player of the Year. An all-region and first-team all-area selection, Cook was an All-State honorable mention pick.
